I LOVE our heated seats, they are truly fantastic for cold weather al fresco driving. I don't even miss having a hardtop here in the NorthEast. I get a good number of surprise warmish days late in the middle of Fall or in early Spring where I can drop the top, throw on a beanie and live it up.

I did that once a few years ago on a chilly fall day when it was only a couple of degrees above freezing just before I put the car away for the winter. Although I don't have heated seats, the heater is like a small reactor on meltdown and carefully aiming the dash vents at the 10 and 2 positions of the steering wheel kept my hands sufficiently warm. Got some odd looks from other drivers - perhaps it was the Beach Boys CD blaring out of the speakers.

Speaking of heat directed at the steering wheel....I know the Z4M was billed as a purist's car, with less accessories and gadgets. I would have been fine with no A/C, power windows, push button trunk opener and traction control.

I'd give all of this up for a HEATED STEERING WHEEL.

So say we all. The heated steering wheel on my E70 X5 is one gadget that I would not be without on that car. It makes winter driving almost something to look forward to. It seems that the colder it is outside, the more pronounced the heating. Now something like that would truly be an awesome after market mod for the Z4 if it were possible.
