Retrofit CID screen with a later model

Hi, new proud owner of a 06 Z4 roadster. My noob question is simple. Anyone tried a DIY retrofit of a post 06 nav screen into an 06? If so, what would you need to do it? Thanks.

Are you asking whether or not it's possible to replace your current CID with a later one? Or are you saying you don't have a CID at all and wish to install one?

Also, welcome to the forum! You might also find RealOEM helpful for referencing parts.

According to RealOEM the most recent CID (P/N 65509169175) supersedes previous ones in both roadsters and coupes.

Ok, so I take it a newer model CID will be a direct swap with my 2006 CID. Thanks
