Dash panel Question
Too the right of my convertable Top UP or DOWN buttons are two other buttons or lights I don't know what there for. One round button says DTC the other shows a flat tire but mine has NO TPMS valve stems which I know to be correct because I just replaced the tires myself. Could someone shed some light on what those buttons OR lights are there for ??? thx

Hi Randy,
There are no discrete tpms in the pre facelift cars (correction -2006 included (mine don't have them either). I think the discrete units showed up in 2007?). The wheel pressure is cleverly calculated via the abs sensors, which count the rotation of the wheels. If the pressure dips, the rotational speed will change and the computer will indicate that as an air pressure loss. The DTC is the traction control. Press it once to enable a sportier version of the traction control that will allow a bit more slippage amongst other things before the comp reigns things in. Holding it down will completely disable the TC- then it's up to you to not end up in a ditch A quick search on those buttons will bring up some more info... Also recommend downloading an e copy of the manual if you don't have a physical copy. Really explains all the cars functions! |
