HELP!!! Stock HU, MP3 and Bluetooth...

DSP....it's making me lose my mind.

Could they not have come up with a better way to wire this around so that the deck could be changed easier?

/minirant

So all I want is Mp3 and if possible Bluetooth...

HAS ANYONE DONE THIS? OR CAN COMMENT ON THE UNITS BELOW?

GROM, Yatour, DICE, Denison....all brands that have what I want. The problem is after countless hours of perusing their sites; I have no definite answers on a working result.

GROM unit BMWSU3 for $150 + Bluetooth is $200
http://gromaudio.com/store/usb_adapt...the_radio.html
When sorting through the application guide it said I’d need the DSP adapter:
http://gromaudio.com/store/accessori...rsion_kit.html
So another $70.
Pretty neat little setup for $270 + shipping and the rest.

YATOUR unit YT-M07. (YT-BTM is Bluetooth support).
http://www.yatour.net/shop/?type=detail&id=53
Has all the features, but no price on their website, or confirmation of DSP compatibility. Lovely.
Since they have no website and have to dig through Amazon and Alibaba I’ve become extremely annoyed. A silly image on their website directs you to: http://yatour.en.alibaba.com/ but the minimum order is 100 units! LMAO
So I then head over to aliexpress, find more info, but the item is no longer available!
I ended up finding units on Amazon, but I gave up because the compatibility is unclear.

In all honesty, the Yatour could be <$200 all in, but its a stuggle to get info.

Found a seller of the adapter for the Z4:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/YATOUR-ADAPT...-/271417138443
and
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Digit...531732949.html

DSP Adapter:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DSP-KIT-FOR-...-/251286525276
or
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Yatour-DSP-Ad...-/251487617600

Did some more digging…

CAME ACROSS THIS THREAD WHICH WAS HELPFUL:

So....has anyone had success with Yatour or Grom with a BMW Business DSP?

I use Mediabridge/Dice unit with DSP adapter on my DSP 10 speaker carver amp/business radio set up.

I'm happy with it and the sound. Have used it with my iPhone connected as an aux unit to the business radio... connected with Bluetooth and am presently using Sirius car radio into aux input on the Mediabridge. I get hands free cell phone usage with the Sirius radio as set up plugged into the auxiliary port the unit/phone paired.

What was the setup cost?

A good solution, but I'm looking for something a little more integrated. In this scenario I'd still have to wire up an auxiliary port anyway.

Also....100th post!

Cost is what you can get it for....you will have to google suppliers for a current cost. Self install is actually pretty easy for the average DIY'er.

I've done a decent amount of underhood and electric DIY. The damn DSP amp and connector clarification is what gets me. The yatour is the way I wanna go. It's middle of the road cost and has the features I want. Bluetooth and MP3 capability in the stock head unit.

The Mediabridge DSP unit plugs into the same connection on the amp that the cars DSP cable does. The cars DSP cable connection isn't used after that. The rest of the wiring of the DSP unit and Mediabridge is straight forward and the wiring diagrams are straight forward and easy to read. The CD changer cable sometimes is a little elusive but is always found in the general area where it's supposed to be.
