I agree Nikki. Newer forum members have that excitement since they often just got their cars and we want to let them play. I also think a post count minimum is appropriate to keep "attention whores" who don't really belong to the forum (don't post regularly, have just a few posts, don't contribute)--but I think it should have some flexibility. But we need some rules, as rules have already come in handy once with a very charming 1 post guy who went all bat**** crazy at Dubbledown because he wouldn't let Mr. Charming play (guy wasn't a member here by any stretch).

Since he runs the show and does all the work that goes into this--I think it's his call on the rules, and whether there are other things that qualify a member besides pure post count FWIW, I'm okay with the rules having additional qualifiers, e.g. "100 posts or active forum participation or significant contributions." In fact, in post #2 of this thread Dubbledown says: However, exceptions will be made on case by case basis depending on one's contributions thus far (ie technical guides)." So there is some flexibility already built in.

I'd say if you've got a post count under 100, but are an active participant here, contribute, and support the forum then go ahead and PM Dubbledown or just submit a shot per the instructions. If you don't get in this month, there's always the next month. What's there to lose?

Why don't we just open it up to whomever that wants to enter? As long as they have a Z4 of sorts, it's all good!

Thanks for understanding and that actually has been the case. If someone has a decent number of posts and PM's me, I usually don't hold him back. It was just that one time the member literally had 1 post total.

But if the member posts "where do I submit?" and didn't bother to spend the 1 minute to read the first 2-3 entries, then I'm not going to go out of my way either lol.

Well, quit lurking and start posting! We don't bite--most of the time!

Seriously, BTM has something like 11K posts by now in less than a year I think.

Lurking ... a tough habit to break

Time for me to post on a regular basis.
I think the 'theme' concept is great.

Nothing wrong with this post!

I lurked for my first 6 months and then jumped in. Once I did it the site was even more fun. Yes, there's a lot of information here, but there's also a good community (rare on the internets).

Throw in a post or two a day and bamn you're there pretty quickly!

Sept was a weird month, although mfanatic led in voting, he's asked to pass his votes off to next in line (because of the new rule) leading wrose to be our POTM. Everyone had great shots nonetheless!

When there are so many good Z4 forum's its tough to post on them all on a regular basis. I check in here pretty regular, but don't always post. But I will wait out the 100 and send in a nice pic. I even have one in mind to do. Not going to share because I don't want to give it away.

i would contribute, but it seems too formal for me. i wish we could just make a thread every month with picture of the month and submit ourselves. close the thread before the month ends and make a poll. just seems easier

(No sarcasm) By all means if it can be done that simply, I encourage you to set it up. This was the most efficient way I could think of but if the process can be managed easier going forward, I have no issues handing this over... 2012?

I understand, but I've tried sending my images to moderators before, and my email either compresses them or the quality of the image decreases as it gets resubmitted or reposted using another host. That's the only reason I like posting photos myself. The way it's setup now works great and you have really put some dedication into this.

I am still waiting to get to a 100 posts myself, but I think once "dubsesd" joins the fray, it will be hard for anyone to win. His pictures are GREAT!!
