Agreed. I have one I recall it is around 14 pounds or so. If someone can make a lightweight version I am in. The problem though this piece sticks out beyond the bumper by st least 3 inches toward the rear so lowered cars scrape on driveways. Anything less than metal will crack of rip off.

Actually Aluminum is relatively strong in the vertical plane. It may be a good option.

Scraping on pavement could possibly just grind down the vertical elements as opposed to bending them.
