Huge thanks for getting this put together for us!! I have always seen these in E9X and loved them and now I finally have them in my car.

Well lo and behold, I was not expecting these until later this week, but here they are (UPS said these were in Germany yesterday .

The first picture has no flash, just natural light and I must say I'm very pleased with the product. Thought the small numbers would not be visible at night but found that's not the case. The individual pics are backlit with an LED flashlight, this is how they'll likely look (sans the light ring) when I install them.

As echoed by other forum members, thanks again to Cyclops for organizing this group buy as well as the excellent DIY video he created, definitely made our lives easier when it comes to installing our individual gauges, well done! I'll probably install mine this weekend; I do plan to test the slight light leak on the 'coupe' logo and will either use a small piece of black tape or find a way to use the light from the gas and temperature gauges to illuminate the coupe logo. Will post back if successful with the latter, cheers!

Vid714 Angelito Thanks guys

I shared the light leak concerns on the logos with Venoxy and they said that a piece of vinyl covering the back would fix the issue. I didn't get my set today because of weather delays so hopefully tomorrow.

In case someone is interested in illuminating the Coupe/Roadster logos here is what the backside of the tach looks like and where the white LEDs are. Personally I think this is way too much work for the outcome. I'm just going to cover mine up with vinyl and be done with it.

what kind of vinyl covering?
I saw the electrical tape idea, but in fl, its going to see extreme heat, don't want to make a mess of it...

I was just going to use black vinyl wrap like they use on cars. Not sure if that is a good idea, any other suggestions?

Got my faces in and installed them. Product is great, the red looks awesome. I made a small error when I tried to adjust the placing of the face I tried to lift it again after applying it with the adhesive and caused some damage so I ordered another and will fix it when it comes. Just a thought about the install, when plugging the unit back in it seems the needle motor readjusts the placement of the needle/pin from where you had it. So when I go back to install the new face I'm going to plug in the connector while the needles are only partially inserted, wait for the motor to readjust them, then pull them out with my fingers and push them back into 0 positions. That should put the needles in the correct positions. Correct me if I'm wrong, maybe I went about it incorrectly the first time around and that's why my needle placement was all over the place.

I found the same issue when placing the needles back to zero. I did the same

I did not mask the coupe logo and I did not want to remove to mask it after I saw how it was, I feared damaging it, so I am also planning to reorder another set as I do want to have lo light bleed at all

Mine arrived days ago but was busy writing, editing, and proofing McLaren content. Now that I have time I really have to get them installed. The red ones look really good.

I was going to go with red but realized I previously modified my Miata with them and changed to white/grey gauge faces.

And those blue ones look amazing. With a Montego Blue or Interlagos Blue exterior colors it would be unbelievable.

I'm about to calibrate, any thoughts on raising the speedo needle a "little above" the zero mark, seeing how they are set low from factory?(my needle was actually a little below zero when I took it off)

just thinking out loud...

Looking great, making me think I should have gone with the white instead of gray... Might need to circle back with WDB to see if I can buy that lighter gray (not quite white) set of gauges.

Please post pics of gauges with plain daylight when you get a chance, cheers.

So I just installed my second set and a few pointers;
  1. The adhesive on the back is pretty tacky and if you try to remove after you put it down it can damage the face. I would suggest you guys try to reduce the tackiness somehow, maybe by putting a clean white cloth to it a few times?
  2. As for the Roadster/Coupe logo light leak, what I did was stick a piece black vinyl (di-noc) on the backing paper and cut a rectangle the length of the lettering and stuck it on. Since we're pretty much sticking the backing paper back on the adhesive you'll always be able to remove it without any damage. Seemed to work well.

I pulled a corner of the backing paper up -- that's not the issue. If you look at the pictures in post #1 the white faces are lighter than the thin ring that goes around the edge; on my "white" faces the thin ring is the lighter color, not the face. I've reached out to the folks in Poland to get clarification. This is not what I was expecting.
Did you get any feedback from Venoxy? LMK if you get the color issue resolved, I'll be interested in buying those 'light gray' gauges if you decide not to keep them, cheers.

BTW I ordered another set trying to get a neon deep orange which turned out pretty much red, so if anyone is interested in these I'd sell them at cost. These are for the Canadian cluster so outside ring KM/hr.

Wanted to add another comment about the install. Make sure you guys clean all little black particles and gunk off properly or they'll fall onto the guage faces after you put everything together. I have some small black dots on mine now that I'm going to clean when i replace one of the faces.

Also when putting the glass section part back on in the front make sure that the 2 inner parts of the glass (roundels?) that insert into the black center section are properly aligned or they will also scratch up the center black portion when trying to put them in. Not sure if that makes sense kinda hard to describe

Yes they did reply, and what I got was as white as they are going to make it. I looked at the pictures posted by kaybat and I am going to stay with these and install them. They will definitely help me see the needles, which is what I'm after. Thanks for the pics kaybat !

I agree, I would have liked them to be a tad lighter myself.
water under the bridge I guess.

Did any of you remove the negative battery connection before removing the cluster?
