Random Stalling

Information: 2006 Z4M, 96,000km (about 60k miles)

It has happened several times now, no discernable pattern, no CEL, just it would randomly shut itself off at the lights.

-One consistency, seems like if i recall my foot was on the clutch in neutral every single time, only happens at lengthy wait at the lights(as in longer than a minute worth of wait)
-Only stalls once, then seems to run fine the rest of the way.
-Car is running 91 Petro Canada
-I replaced the plugs with iridium Densos a week ago, no change, old plugs did not appear to show issues
-Air filter is clean, i had a look
-When the car does stall, usually shows 2 light, battery being one of them.

I am baffled and with no code I am not sure where to start looking. Would a weakened battery cause the random stalling?

Battery light can mean a faulty battery or in my opinion most likely a faulty alternator. Your best bet is having those two tested. I believe that will solve your problem, unless there's a bigger problem but it's best to check the obvious one first. Cheers

how old is your battery? I'm similar mileage as you and car sits in the winter on tender. My second battery were replaced during the last month of my warranty so it's 7 years old.
Very similar symptoms like yours so I just when to CT and get a new battery, even CT told me the battery was tested good and has that blue indicator on the battery still showing. I changed it anyway due to its age.

everything went well for 1 week. then it started again. no code. My indi then lent me a portable OBD2 handheld. I drove around while having it plugged in then the handheld recorded everything.

New alternator..

been good ever since..

They tend to do this. ... Because racecar.

There's some old threads on the subject.
Some things that seemed to be common, but not always:
Hot weather
1/4 tank or less gas
Just finished a spirited run on the freeway, pulled off at an exit, and stopped at a light.

I know this is an old thread, but was hoping the OP could follow up on what solved it for him. I'm having a similar situation with mine 2007 coupe.

Honestly, seems like absolutely nothing, it just kinda disappeared on its own, although it still shows the odd chance of wanting to with rough idle but it seems to have a bit more warning than before.

My next plan is a VANOs rebuild this winter and valve adjustment, hope it solves the idle issue.
Sorry i cannot be of more help.

Do you have an aftermarket intake by any chance?

I do not. It really doesn't make sense personally, i chalk it up today now is just an odd gremlin that seems to have gone away on its own.
