Need suggestions for a spot at Bear Mtn
My friend and I are heading up to Bear Mountain this weekend to take some photos of our cars.
Does anyone have any suggestions for specific areas to shoot the pictures? Thanks in advance!! |

I was there last week, Perkins Tower is still closed which sucks, there are plenty of spots up there. I ended up taking some shots around the Bear Mountain Inn, where the big parking lots are.

Sorry to highjack thread, but anyone have an idea when the Tower is due to open? There is a nice back road when leaving the tower that has an amazing view of the river and the bridge.
Here's a couple of pics when I had my Miata along with a play firend.

Yes, some very cool places if you want a water shot, but these are south of actual Bear Mountain by a couple miles.
Seven Lakes Drive has a few places you can pull off and get pictures with either Lake Tiorati or Lake Askoti in background. There is also a pulloff parking lot area off 7 lakes dr, and you have Lake Skannatati right there, but ususally that parking lot is full on nice days. If I recall correctly, Tiorati Brook Road (one of my all time favorite roads ANYWHERE) has a cool area where its very low lying, and almost looks like it blends into Lake Tiorati on its east side. But usually they close the road in the winter, hopefully its open by now. And if thats not the low lying area I am thinking of, then its gotta be on Gate Hill road that cuts right thru Lake Welch. Either way, if you drive around these areas, you will find great water shots. I love that area but its been a few months since I've been and sometimes the roads just blend together in my mind. Oh one more idea, take a drive over Bear Mountain bridge heading east, turn Right onto bear mountain bridge road (south on 6/202/ turns into highland ave) and there is a pull off viewing area up there with nice views. You might be able to get an angle with the car and water in the back ground but im not 100% sure. it would be fun to give it a try and its some great driving. have fun up there!
