I didn't know that RE supposedly used better material. Definitely good to know!

I'll keep that in mind in the future when I get different dampers for my own car.

Thanks for sharing!

Got the RE perches this week. Below is a brief outline of my install. I timed out because of family obligations and will post more pictures of the final positioning in a couple of weeks.

Updated:

Hyperco 5" Springs with nylon upper spring perches

Adjustable perch on the lower arm.

Summary:
I tried the 6" KW springs which work, but the articulating perch adjuster sits too low, and the adjuster from beneath the car was too close to the drive shaft for my liking.

No chatter or noise of any kind so far.

It occurred to me this evening that the dual perch thing is absolutely ridiculously.

I just ordered alignment perches to replace my KW perches.

I'll keep those interested posted with photos of the final install.

Nice, I was thinking of RE adjustables too b/c such a pain to change ride height on the rears.

Great update!

By any chance, do you know if this is safe to use with the KW progressive rear springs? I believe our ID is 61mm. I know RE specifically says 60mm or 2.25".

Yes, 61mm springs and 60mm perches are a match.

FWIW from Turner Motorsport.
"Height adjustable coilovers - Front - 20-50mm, Rear - 15-40mm "

from another site...
"The vehicle can be height adjusted from 5-45 mm on front and rear axle. "

I think the 2nd numbers are closer to reality.

if for whateveer reason you want to go lower, you can upgrade to a set of shorter springs

Great stuff! Are you using articulating perches?

I've got a couple of sets, 450/550 and trying a 500/600, and may move to 550/650 depending how this set feels for some daily driving.

What is your rear set-up? spring size and perch.

The RE e46 perches do not fit our cars and the Hyperco springs do not fit the KW perches. I either have to get KW springs or find a top perch that will fit the Z4M.

I've tried removing the threaded adjuster from the KW perch but the spring chatters like crazy.

It's been fun though part of the process.

I have 550/650 springs, 5.5'' long, 60mm diameter, KW perches. It is far from an ideal setup but was very fun on the track this weekend.

The 550/650 is firm but perfect for mix of daily driving/track. It's the perfect compromise. I would go stiffer on the track but it would be too stiff for the street then.

Why are the RE E46 perches won't fit our cars? Inner diameter?

RE perches have a smaller inner diameter on the e46 than the e86. I'm surprised your adjustable KW perches fit the hyperco's. I have 5" 60mm springs and they don't fit

Updated the pictures of the full set-up top of this page.

I bored out the nylon perches to make them fit.

The world is a better place now. No chatter, great fitment.

If anyone is looking to swap his front KW Clubsport springs into linear, i'd like to buy those springs.

We're talking 2 springs, 2 helper springs and 2 intermediate rings.

I can sell my 2 front KW Clubsport 400 springs and 2 rear KW Clubsport progressive springs if interested but I will keep the helper springs and rings. I am not selling front and rear separately.

Looking for $160+shipping

Not that it is beneficiary for me, but shouldn't you be using an appropriate helper springs to compress the new rated Hyperco springs?

What would be an appropriate helper springs rate for a 550 spring vs a 400? Not sure to understand...
