H&R Coilovers

Hey guys I just bought some H&R coilovers from Hoa (thanks man). Should be here sometime soon and I will post pics and a review as soon as they get here. Very excited been looking at coilovers since I bought the car. This is my first set of coilovers ever. (crazy right) Ive usually just used Koni yellows with springs but that wasnt really and option for this car

I asked santa for these same coilovers for Christmas so I would love to hear about the install, ride quality & most of all the best setting. Fill us in!

I definitely will fill you in and post some nice pictures and settings. Anybody know where I should get my car aligned afterward? I took it to BMW last time but I would love to take it somewhere else (maybe a little cheaper). Firestone has a lifetime alignment any idea if they can align BMW's?

I talked to a guy who owns a local BMW and Porsche shop called Paul's and he said he sends all their alignment jobs to a guy name Robert at Big 10 Tires. I am having Robert align my car after the coilover installation. Price is 109$

OK so all of the coilovers are on and dialed in. The car looks absolutely awesome with the drop. I did 1.5" in the rear and 1.75" in the front. The coilovers feel amazing. The ride is better than stock. I have no idea what everyone saying H&R was too harsh was talking about. The handling is unbelievable. Just point the steering wheel in the direction you wanna go and it goes. Turn in is very flat and level and there is basically no body roll. It literally feels like the car is on rails. I would recommend this suspension to anyone. I daily drive the car and the height i have it at and the ride is completely acceptable. The bumper never scrapes due to how short the overhang is (distance between front of the wheel and front of the bumper). Ill post up some pictures once I get my damn iPhone picture messaging to work

really glad to hear all these people praising the ride quality of the H&R coils, I'm almost sold on them vs the MUCH more expensive KWV3s

i have not been in a z4m with KW's, but i can vouch for the H&R's as well. the ride isnt as rough as stock but it's firm. very planted in turns, and the car feels much more responsive. no squeaks, rattles or sounds at all.

Can't wait for the pics! Quick question though; how do you know what the lowering height will be when making the adjustments? As in how do you know when you're at 1.5" in the rear and 1.75" in the front? Also where there any issues getting the jack out once your car was on the ground and do you reuse the strut hat on the new coilovers? Thanks

after getting some time with the z4m with clubsports on them i was literally blown away!!
its the only way i could ever go... awesome units and the ride was nearly the same as stock, the thing that struck me re the kw's was the sheer quality of the hardware.

One way is to measure the stock height from the ground to the top of the wheel well opening, and comparing...

This. Not really any other way to do it. And yes you do reuse the stock hats.

KW is definitely nice but I couldnt justify spending that much money. For half the price the H&R are great.
