Replaced my Headlight Armor.
Holy Mother of Pearl, what a faff !!!

It does protect the headlights from Sun damage, but the overlays get damaged at about the same rate.
Having done the 3M restoration kit, and now replacing the Headlight Armor, I would only recommend Headlight Armor if you're worried about rocks breaking the headlight.

Takes about 1/2 hour per side to do the restoration, and about 2 hours per side to get the Headlight Armor glue off.

Heating it up didn't help with the glue? It took me about 1/2 hour per side to remove and clean up the Lamin-X glue, and I didn't heat it up prior to removal. I will try some heat on the next go-around. I do agree that it was definitely a PITA to remove though - required lots of patience. I'm wondering how people deal with removing wraps on their cars

I bought two of those from someone on the forums and they didn't come with the mounting brackets. I bought those new. The screw holes aren't threaded but I used a self threading bolt in each hole and then used regular -- very short -- bolts. My first bolt choice was a bit too long and interfered with the thigh support adjustment.

Yes, I think anything longer than 1/2" will be too long.

I installed a pair of these in my old Z4MR - actually I think I still have them lying around somewhere. They were so useful as I never had anywhere convenient to put my sunglasses. Extra storage space was always welcome in a car with tiny door panel pockets and a glove box that will barely fit a pair of gloves.

Before installing I had lined the inside of the boxes with felt (standard stuff from an arts and crafts store) and the finished result was one I was quite proud of. Helped to reduce/eliminate any of the plastic-y sound when you put something inside that rolls or slides around.

Did it with the car sitting in 90° Sun, sponging it from a bucket of blazing hot water.
Scrubbed the glue off with WD40 and a shop rag.

This is awesome. I had no idea this part existed. Found one for 20 bucks, ordering it now. Any other OEM accessories that i should know about?

Make sure to also order the mounting bracket, as it is not included with the first aid box. The bracket costs more than the box.

just how big is the storage with this? what could it potentially hold as storage space is so limited in this car.

Wasn't going to get anything else for the Z after the A/C repair.

But then this showed up in my email yesterday, so at least I waited until today to get it...

These will give you an idea. The top half of the box does not extend all the way back, due to obstructions, so that does cut down the space some.

Another bit of storage to be gained is to replace the useless SOS buttons with an oddments tray. It can fit a pair of sunglasses, some coins or maybe a cell phone (unless you got a pretty large phone).

See http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1196385. However, don't pry the SOS buttons out from the front like shown there, do it from the back, as it is much easier. Also, do not disconnect the buttons, as it will throw a code in GM. The buttons can be popped out from the enclosure. Then just stuff it down the hole.

No pics but I bought all new lights for the front end of the M Coupe. I installed them yesterday.

I only pre-purchased the xenon bulbs/igniters, figuring that I could pop out the marker/signal bulbs and run down to the local auto parts house to get replacements once I had them in hand. Nope! BMW uses a rather unique halogen bulb, Philips 12356. I finally found them at the third place, a NAPA store, thanks to the first NAPA store cluing me in on where to go. Thanks NAPA!

The job wasn't hard but that was only because I had researched the procedure in advance. Thanks Pelican Parts! Their information made the job MUCH simpler. The only really tricky bit was getting the xenon igniter power connector secured. It's loose until the igniter is rotated into its final resting place. Take your time and be sure about it.

https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...eplacement.htm

Moral: buy front marker/signal bulbs online, you might not find them locally!

I've read that it would throw a code if disconnected as well, but some of the guys here who did this recently said they didn't get any error codes

Were they using a scanner that reads BMW specific codes? I got a code (I forget exactly which one) then reconnected the buttons, cleared the code and it did not come back. Anyways, it is better to err on the safe side and keep the buttons connected. They tuck out of the way in the hole, so no harm no foul.

One place you can find them is at ECS Tuning.

You need part#'s 52107045018 and 52107044958

Then find some 1/4" x 1/2" self tapping sheet metal screws locally. I found ones at Ace Hardware.
