Newbie question about z4 heated seat swap.
I tried searching but nothing seems to be there.
So i have a U.S. 2003 z4 sport edition. It doesn't have the heated and power seats. I want the heated and power seats. I read somewhere that the 2006+ facelifted doesn't have prewires for the swap if you have manual seats. Does that mean 2006 and lower models have wires for you to plug and play and install the center console for heated and powered seats? Can I buy heated and power seats from another z4 and directly swap and plug it in without having to splice or cut any wires? |

I believe that is the case, but I need someone to confirm for us. I'm sure someone here knows the rights of this.

For a 2003, you should have the wiring already in the harness. Look at the wiring on the yellow connector under the seat. If you have the wiring for the heaters and power adjustment, you'll see the additional wires there on the loom side of the connector, with no corresponding wires on the seat side of the connector. They are a fairly heavy gauge wire.
The different occupancy sensor in the later cars is the other consideration, as you'll see from those other threads. |
