CSL Front Sway Upgrade?
I’ve read before how the e46 m3 front sway is compatible with the Z4 M. If so, has anyone here tried upgrading to the CSL front sway (30.8mm) bar? They occasionally pop up in the m3 classifieds and it got me thinking...

Dial out some understeer by going with a thicker front sway bar. I realize it's counter intuitive but actually works in our favor given the MacPherson suspension. I could swap to stiffer spring rates but I actually prefer the soft rates I have now for "everyday" driving. The CSL front is about same thickness or tad bit thicker than the H&R front bar.

Quick note on big bars, soft springs.
Herb Adams of Pontiac fame was a huge proponent of that setup. Albeit on an unequal A-arm setup His book Chassis Engineering is a great resource. https://books.google.ca/books?id=rY2...page&q&f=false

I'm interested in how this performs, as on a car that sees mainly street use softer springs are way more livable. |
