New 2me '04 Z4

I just brought my bright red base roadster 3.0 home on Tues. Just put on a new set of General G-MAX 05 AS tires today. HUGH difference in ride quality. The car only has 50,300 mi. and is near pristine condition, top and belly pan. BUT, the only problem is it has a minimal vibration at all speeds. Not much, but I feel it in the seats and steering wheel both. It feels like there's a flat spot on one of the tires, but the new tires are just like the take offs. It is not caused by imbalance. It drives straight, but with some tramline as might be expected. Most people would not even be aware of it, but I just sold an '06 Mazda Miata that was glass smooth on the same roads I drive all the time. Any guesses as to what it might be??
I've read the thread on severe steering wheel vibration. My vibration is no where near like that.

All input is greatly appreciated.

Congrats and pics please! Some possibilities:

Wheel alignment?

Tire pressure?

Wheel balance?

A slight bend in a rim, perhaps from a pothole strike?

Possibly, but didn't show when tires were balanced today.

Any chance the U joints may be out? But, I feel no slop on acceleration and deceleration. Just may be the nature of the beast.

I知 thinking it may be a rim. I had that issue on my car with my original equipment rims and it went away when I got a set of new VMR 718 rims a couple of years back.

I sure hope not. Other things I have thought of are a loose exhaust bracket, possibly or any undercarriage bolts or fasteners. The vibration is felt in the floor boards as well. I'll check that out next time it's on a lift.

At any rate, it's not a terrible problem unless it get worse. I'm just a very ticky guy that like everything perfect.

Check your FCAB痴... you may need to replace them. Replacing them would also likely solve the tramming issue as well. You will need to have car re-aligned afterwards.

Good idea Huz-Z. I had 2 rims that were out of round. Replaced with after market wheels and my 15 year old car runs and dives as smooth as new!!!

Thanks Huz Z. Now I'll have 2 stock wheels to refurb and paint and on the market soon.
