OE Connecting Rod Bolts

I took a look at the TIS instructions that specify that the OE M10 connecting rod bolts should be torqued three times to achieve maximum tensile strength. Their procedure uses Plastigauge on the first torque (angle torque) to check clearance, then remove the Plastigauge and re-torque (angle torque), back off the bolts by one turn and then apply the final torque (angle torque). Does this square with everyones' understanding of the correct procedure?
ARP apparently does not have an M10 bolt for our S54s. Only for the pre 02/2003 S54s with the M11 bolts.
This is an area with which I have little familiarity, but I'm seriously considering replacing my connecting rod bearings, so if any of the above is incorrect, please respond.
Thanks for any help, Ted.
