M Coupe and M Roadster Special Interest Group
For years when I owned my E30 M3 I belonged to the E30 M3 SIG , a part of BMWCCA. We had our own email thread ( that is STILL get) that helped members with parts, repairs, just about anything with that car that was needed.
I was wondering what the interest might be with creating a M Coupe / M Roadster SIG. With only 3,041 M Roadsters, and 1,815 M Coups built this is a very low production car. This will come in very handy now that these cars are getting older with the 2006 about to hit 10 years old. I am sure someone can create a website and with a few donations cover the cost of a domain name. I can get some help with the E30 M3 SIG chair to help with the email links. Yes there is a Z SIG already but that is really for the Z3. What do you guys think????

Great idea, these cars are going to get harder to source solutions for as they get longer in the tooth.

Great idea! And it's going to be needed.
Any idea of the cost to build and maintain? Ballpark? Might get more folks going for this if we knew build/maintain cost across 25/50/100 people for build and per year. |

SIG
I understand about the standard Z4 Coupe low numbers but the M's have the same suspensions, and engines the parts don't cross over with the 3.0.
I'm not saying thats a bad thing, but to understand how the SIG emails work. basically all the members of the groups get the emails, reguarding any and everything about the car. I never said the E30 325is was a bad car but hardly any of that cars parts are the same as the M3.

OK Here is the UPDATE
I got the form needed to create a group through BMWCCA for our SIG. but there are a couple questions. 1. Do we want to use GMAIL Groups as the main GROUP email everyone signs up on or something else? 2. Is there anyone who is REALLY DYING to be the group moderator for this? If not I can. 3. the OFFICIAL SIG name is????? Z4 M SIG????

I wouldn't mind lending a hand wherever it's needed. I have a lot of editing and previous experience with car groups. I used to edit for ZSCCA from 2013-2014 until I just couldn't keep up with what they were asking for at the time.
I'm definitely interested regardless.

I'd be SO down to build a site for this!
With the domain/hosting in place, most if not all services provide custom emails. For example the domain is z4msig.com, the email can be info@z4msig.com. Is this what you're going for? And don't worry, I build proper sites. I have plenty of automotive related sites I've built in the past. |

Ok people it looks like this is going to happen. UntzUntzUntz has asked to head up all the setup. SO we will have a Z4 M SIG group email listing to join soon. and recognition with BMWCCA as a SIG for these cars.
The email group is really a great thing. It helps everyone with these cars for everything, You don't have to log into any website. If something is needed, wanted to be discussed, sold, found, DIY help its as simple as posting an email on the SIG and it goes out to everyone that has signed up, worldwide. The E30 M3 SIG was the reason why for the longest you NEVER saw those cars for sale. Most were sold through the SIG to people that actually knew what the car was and what its significance to BMW Motorsport really was. I hope this group will be the same way.

My pleasure inTgr8r !!
I just registered both z4m-sig.com and z4msig.com domains (z4msig.com will redirect to z4m-sig.com). Email is going to be info@z4m-sig.com. I'm running a couple tests now so it should be good to go pretty soon. |

Guys don't panic when you have to tell the group your VIN. Its just a simple way to know you have an M Coupe or M Roadster. The number will NOT be published ANYWHERE. Please join the email group is you have or had one in the past.
