Your thoughts
Hello all....I'm not exactly new to the forum, but I'm new at this posting stuff. I was wondering what you guys think I should do with the car. I own a 04 Z4-2.5.......so far I've done some slight mods, mostly cosmetic. I have installed a Ram air intake behind the grill and did a muffler delete. as for cosmetic, ill post some pictures.
I would like to get some more power out of the thing and thought ill have the ECM re-mapped. Maybe a set of headers??? What do you guys recommend as a quick seat of the pants power increase??? I'm trying to remain naturally aspirated. I love the 2.5 and like the way it rockets around town. I just want to make it more authoritative.......:-) |

Leave it the way you have it and save up for an Si or M in the future. That will give you more power for the least amount of money. The money saved from not upgrading can be the start of the savings for the new car.

Ok. The rear spoiler cost me $25. the spoiler was sourced from a 2001 Toyota Celica, and slightly modified to bolt onto the rear trunk lid. It was painted for $100. I must admit it does look good (to me anyway). The front bumper was treated to universal 2pc front splitter, again I like it. The side rocker was covered with a hood strip (the kind you put on the hood of a Mustang or Camaro). I like the look, and I have seen SO MUCH worse. I think it is still sophisticated and not boy racer.

On the front bumper I installed a two piece lip spoiler, did not cost much but looks great.......I do have to be careful now as I drive, its very low to the ground.

The rear spoiler is sweet. Back in my RX8 days I remember it was popular to install the spoiler from a Pontiac GTO and it looked very OEM+, this Celica wing has the same sort of feel! Nice job on that.
Personally, not a huge fan of the jet stickers, especially the one on the fuel filler door, but perhaps some of us take cars more serious than we should. Props for keeping it fun. As far as mods, I'm not too well versed in the 2.5l but my guess is headers + tune would be one option. Another option to alter driveability, especially around the city, would be changing the final drive (ring & pinion).

Paint it red. Guaranteed 25HP power boost
Good on you for 'keeping it fun' as tiltmode43 posted, but I wouldn't park up at any airfields with that sticker on the fuel cap |
