EAS were having issues with their VF s/c on the z4m.... this is why certain kits have been delayed while they work out tune issues.

VF hardware is imo as good as it gets...... im worried about their tunes however.... the z4m is a very different kettle of fish to get right!!!

That was a 420 kit... which they're still working on now, I guess.

Curious to see if any problems arise on the 480.

So the 480 is available w/o tuning issues, but the other two are TBD? Is there ANYONE running the 480 that can share the results, or any proof from VAC? I'd like a unit, but not sure I want to pioneer it without any info at all.

go a little further into the statement maybe???
what exactly was it that you experienced??

i think MOST if not all FI cars will heat soak at the track as will an N/A car..... its just different varying degrees of the issue...

my Ess set-up gets marginally slower throughout the day on a all day track-day in say 30 deg C heat BUT... it recovers quickly after a short break, never ever misses a beat, never goes into limp mode and always delivers, all i can ask for.... the inter-cooler is HUGE so the only way for really chill things is meth/water injection!!

What is the approx weight of this system with full fluids? Has this been tested on the track for heat management over a long run?

I am interested in this system, normally I don't like forced induction on a track car but if you guys are selling this system it must have proved its worth. I have run you guys a couple times down at NJMP with the porches clubs when you were running the e46

FWIW, I'm super excited to see VF offer a z4m option and was ready to buy until I talked to my shop about the install and they recommended against going with a supercharger. In their experience (one of the owners used to track a supercharged m3) heat is always be a problem on the track with the increase in power and it wasn't worth it. I've only personally seen one person at an HPDE with a S54 system where heat was forcing him to take the periodic cool down laps (have seen other S52 blowers have problems).

Given the VF system is an air/water cooler and a new system for the z4m, it would be great to see some actual usage results and expectations for heat management at the track. This looks like a great system, it would just be great to see some real world results of use on the z4m at the track with it's smaller than m3 radiator and frontal area. Alternately, I'm happy to be a beta tester if the kit comes at a beta tester discount

Why are you worried? Are you looking to change from ESS?

It holds up quite well. We track our car often and we know of a few others that are tracked often that keep on rocking.

As soon as more Z4 kits get out there and on track, there will be more info. I know for a fact that the E46 and E9X kits have put up to our abuse.

There isn't much more to say. Between this thread, our site and VF's site all info is up. As soon as I get more, it will be posted

Looking forward to it!

Because from this thread it seems we're expected to make an $8k purchase with next to no info to go on (except price).

THIS is one car I'm looking forward to seeing with a charger on it.

I think you have the best stance on ARC-8s, and I will be fitting a set in the future because of the way they look on your car! Charge that bitch.
