BavSound speaker upgrade. Their kit sounded good in my 99 M3 Cabrio. Hoping for a bit of an improvement in my Z4 MR.

Not sure it will be worth the expense and hassle. The drivers aren't bad in the first place with the Carver setup, if that's what you have (if you have the Premium package, you have it). BavSound stuff is pretty decent but overpriced for what it is. YMMV of course.

After some nasty pad deposits (guess it's time for track pads) and discovering some unseated and worn out brake caliper dust boots it was a massive overhaul weekend.

New rotors, new pads, rebuilt front brake calipers (piston, seals, guides), flushed and bled new brake fluid. Car ought to run like a champ now and slowly improving my DIY skillset.

Finally got my Intgr8r front lip and my modified OEM trunk lip painted and installed just before my first track day this year (also had the reflectors and headlight washers deleted when the bumper was resprayed). A little different than most would have done it, but I'm happy with the results.

What’s your best resource for improving DIY skills? I have very little wrench skills at the moment, but am thinking of getting a 4-post lift primarily for storage and would like to be able to justify with some mechanical education.

YouTube. There's some really talented people. Check out South Main Auto. It's not BMW specific but general knowledge and tips and techniques, he's hard to beat.

There a lot of excellent DIYs on this forum, as well as E46 M3 bits that apply to the Z4M platform. Youtube is excellent, check bills web space for the Z4M

http://www.billswebspace.com/bmwmc.htm

It does help to have a more experienced hand supervising when you are starting out - meet folks in the local car community and you will always find a few are more than happy to help.

Pelican Parts also has quite the library of DIYs for our cars which I've found useful, but also agree 100% with what the others have said.

An Odyssey 94R-850 battery. It was a snug fit, but it slid right in.
