It sounds like you are having a great time and your pictures are worthy of a travel magazine. After spending the last 6 years in Europe(3 in the Middle East) I am heading back to the US this Spring and will be taking 45 days to road trip America. Although, I will be doing it in the grocery getter with my fire team(kiddies) asking "are we there yet?"

Enjoy the remainder of your journey....

Nup, just a hobby but I love traveling (lived in 3 different countries in the last 4 years) so those hobbies really go hand in hand

Haha it'll be fun in a grocery getter though! I am looking forward to getting myself a 4x4 beater when I get to FL because there are a few things I've had to miss out on because I didn't want to hurt the Z. Although, all those windy mountain roads have sure been fun

They are HDRs, some are a bit overdone but I like the arty kinda look. When I get back to Aus I am devoting a room in my house to be covered wall to wall with my travel pics so want to make them a bit more interesting than totally realistic looking photos, if that makes sense

As you are swinging East to FL, here's one drive I would highly recommend to you and all. I first read about it in Autoweek magazine as they rated it one of the Top 10 drives in the USA. If you happen to be on I-40 going into Arkansas (yeah, this is a really boring highway), make a turn south on Arkansas Highway 7 to Hot Springs. This is a fantastic drive! Twisty, tight turns, with some short bursts of faster twisties. There are some spots so tight, any truck over 20 feet long can not make the turns. Very up and down twisties, with little hidden gems of run off spots to rest by pristene streams.

Also, Hot Springs is a resort town, one of the first desginated in the US. Curious thing too, no mosquitos, none of the homes have screened porches. Seems mosquitos larvea can't live in the water, so very few insects during the spring summer months.

If you happen to have a little extra time, go north out of Hot Springs past I-40 up Highway 7 until Highway 62 and loop west to Eureak Springs. Not as twisty, but a wonderful drive. Take 62 to I-540 and loop back down to I-40 and head East to your destination.

I haven't been on this drive for some years, but plan to take it this late spring/early summer in my Z4MC.

Enjoy.

I'm going to be that guy that revives a 10+ year old thread where I don't recognize any of the user names.

It's always been a bucket list of mine to see the US by car, and after much debate between taking my E92 M3 and Z4M Roadster, I've decided I'll go with the Z. Far less comfortable than the E92 and has less space as well, but I just cannot imagine what it'll be like to make it all the way out West and dropping the top.

The difference for me is that I'll have to make a return leg, so we're talking over 6000 miles. Can't imagine a better way to bond with a car.

Target is Summer 2021. Time to plan bullletproofing the S54.

The Z4 is a very comfortable "Touring" car. I had taken numerous road trips with Raddrives (https://raddrives.com/) and loved every moment of it. Made lots of friends/memories along the way

I believed Raddrives is planning a Yellowstone trip summer 2021...so keep an eye out for that so you can join us on the way out west!

Here are some of the road trips that I had the pleasure of doing it with Raddrives in the Z4:

A road trip is the best way to see the US! I've been fortunate to go on 2 huge road trips across the country. One 3 week tour of the Southwest, California and Red Rock country in in Utah and a 4 week tour out to Yellowstone, the Pacific Northwest and Glacier National Park.

Driving the Pacific Coast Highway in a convertible is one of the best drives you can do. Traffic will probably be bad so you can't open it up, but take it slow and enjoy the views! Death Valley with the top down is also a good test of endurance.

On both trips I didn't spend enough time in Colorado. I was debating about fixing that by taking my Coupe to Colorado for ZFest, but Coronavirus cancelled those plans. I might head that way next summer.
