installed! my thoughts:

1. the product: quality is very good, the scoop looks great the fasteners, etc are top notch. also, gary at RENN Spec was great, and the item was at my door in two weeks!

2. the instructions/install:... who ever put the instructions together should be SHOT! they were completely useless.... very, very frustrating.... i hope i didn't miss anything major, there were some spacers and washers leftover...... so be forewarned... the instructions blow!

3. the sound: i have to be honest... at WOT over 4k you hear it... but i am underwhelmed and disappointed. from the cabin it just isn't that impressive. my DINAN RAM AIR INTAKE on my 3.0 sounded much better and was MUCH cheaper.

4. power gain: just by feel, i would say i notice the car pulls harder at highway speeds. nothing earth shattering, but it feels good.

i'll be taking it out at lunch time to an empty street and letting my friend drive by me so i can get and outside perspective of how it sounds.

so, ... money aside on a scale from 1-10 of overall satisfaction with this MOD... i would give the GruppeM intake a "3"... if i knew then what i know now, i would not have bought it. for $2-300 fine, but almost $1000... well, i feel like i wasted $$$. i know other people love theirs, and i don't want to discourage anyone from buying it, and maybe it would sound better if i knew where those two little spacers went... but i wanted to share my take. i hope it helps.

The spacer go inside the unit under the bolts. Probably will improve airflow and sound. I absolutely think it was worth the money!

I thought the instruction was fine, not perfect since it was written by a Japanese tech.

I had no left over washers, only leftover tie straps.

Give your car sometime to adjust to the increased air volume...trust me, it gets better.

i had two extra 'black' 1/2" spacers left over... as well as a large diameter washer.. and yes the two ties. my instruction listed all the parts included and numbered the for reference, but did not reference most of them on the install pictures. and the pictures and captions were not numbered or aligned.... all i could do was assume the order of pics... which really was no help. i'd like to know what those spacers were for.
