Glad to help. Certainly worth the $130 I paid for the bulbs.

For a little extra light output, whether you replace the bulbs or not, the projector lens (half sphere) builds up a cloudy film on both sides of the lens that reduces light output. Cleaning the lens will improve light output. You can also replace the stock Fresnel projector lens with a clear one which will also improve the light output. Neither is a dramatic difference, but a car with headlights low to the ground, every bit helps. I do the lens cleaning or clear lens when retrofiting dual AE and people say they noticed their lights seem brighter.

3002 tii thanks for the review. One of my HID’s just went out in my E92. I typically buy Umnitza’s Phillips 6000K bulbs but willing to try the ones you have on your Z. Question; what bulb is in the Z4; Osram or Phillip, and what Kelvin? Thank you!

The Z got the Osrams and the X got the Philips. Osrams are marketed as 7000K but it’s much closer to 6000K. The Philips are marketed as 4800K so have a very stock like color but a tad whiter.

Awesome, thank you. I prefer the Osrams CBB but I don't see the D1S bulb so I may have to go for the Philips

Right, but I'm looking for my E92 which take a D1S. I suppose I could buy the Z a new set

So even though they state "Canbus error free" you still get a bulb out warning?

I disabled the bulb warning before I even got a chance to install the bulbs so can't say for sure. But everything I've read from others is unless you actually install resistors, error free bulb will result in errors from BMW's.

Side note - I just completed the projector upgrade and the output is now ridiculous with the Osrams lol. If you compare the pics in that new thread vs here, the improvement in distance is just crazy.
