A little OT, but I find it odd that virtually all the Z4M's I've been looking at for the last three months are literally completely stock, whereas virtually all of the e46 M3's have been extensively modified.
Maybe it has something to do with the average age of owners; on the other hand, maybe the Z4M is so good out of the box that the Modification Bug isn't as virulent on these cars. Enquiring minds would like to know. |

Also, just looking at coupes only, you are comparing a model with over 26,000 NA cars sold vs. a model with 1815 cars sold. Of the two models, the Z4MCs comprise only about 6 percent. So the aftermarket for them is very small by comparison. |

yeah, this poll was just created to feel out what everyone's thought process was towards their cars. The thread was started so I could have different views on what different people felt. Thanks for your input, though.
I edited the first post to be non-specific. I've been back and forth over about 5 different sets of wheels, the ZCPs, V710s, P43s, the M310s I listed in this thread earlier, etc...I want to change the look of my car, but I don't want to have to buy 2 sets of rims (street and track) when it comes time for me to start tracking. And I do intend to! I'm still doing my research on all things car right now, but I REALLY appreciate the

19" wheels are not an automatic performance drop, unless you get cheap cast wheels. The 226 alloys are heavier than my MORRs. Plus if you get wider wheels you'll have more grip, and stiffer sidewalls for lowpro tires wont flex as much and again, will give you more grip. Any weight savings is just an added bonus.

A 4.10 diff would be first on my list. Tires wear out, and 19" wheels don't have enough sidewall IMHO. I've busted 2 of the stock 18's on my old 3.0i (255/35/18 tires) on potholes, so it depends on where you live. Plus replacement tires are more expensive with 19's. If you tear up a wheel on a bad bump/debris, you'll pay a premium to replace it. So, if you've got the disposable income wheels look nice. If you're wanting a single mod, a diff will make the biggest performance difference.
