I think 15hp claims would still make it worth it...lets see some new dynos
My baseline dyno with the muffler cans off was run after I had the cans off for nearly 3 weeks, so I'm pretty sure the ECU had already adapted to whatever wasn't there.

In any case, I'm not sure about stock ECU being tuned for 89 and/or 93 only or what not. All I know is, I'm pretty sure 91 octane tune was what I got from AA.

Also, I'm not sure about the baseline dyno's peak hp rpm issue. I swear on my mother's grave though that I revved it all the way to fuel cut during the baseline dyno. So maybe the dyno chart was cut off?
In any case, even if it were cut off, the Dynapack software still records the highest #'s for reference. I'm sure my dyno guy would've given me the best # recorded.
^EDIT: I just looked at the baseline graph. Not sure what was meant by peak hp not being right? It seems right to me? Due to the crazy drop in torque after 5k rpm, the peak hp eventually tapers off as well. The motor pretty much falls flat on its face =P

During the baseline dyno, I hadn't gotten the proper adapters to mate the SS Race cans to my OE section2 (x-pipe) in the mail yet. I already had the stock mufflers off to prepare for the SS Race mufflers at the time too, and was lazy to put the OE ones back on just for dyno purposes. I really didn't think muffler cans would've done anything. In fact, I still honestly personally think that if I had the OE mufflers on for the baseline dyno, I would've probably gotten lower peak power due to the restriction in the cans. I was also curious about the sound without mufflers on the dyno lol..

But the "after" dyno, I had the SS Race cans on.

^^^ Quick question off-topic... What adapters did you use when u mated the Supersprint Race cans to stock x-pipe??
I'm doing the opposite - SS X-pipe to fit to Stock mufflers (it's a temp thing). Can you please let me know, because I'm having difficulty with this, and I don't want to weld anything. Thx in advance

Power does peak around 7k stock fyi. More dynos will come.

I'm sold on these for the price, especially b/c the top end doesn't wheeze out like the factory tune. Will this adapt up to a 100 oct like the ess tune?

Are there any so cal shops that can tune or does the ecu need to be shipped?

Autotalent and Jlevi are the only ones in CA. If neither are close http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=448295

haha you lucky dog! AutoTalent is way close to you.

And you too! I would suggest that you try and get a custom tune by strapping your car to a dyno @ AA headquarters!

Anyhow, I'm not sure if the base 91 tune will adapt to significantly higher octanes such as 100. Your best bet is to ask AutoTalent and they'll probably ask AA for you

And when I get it I'm not going on the dyno...I'm going to the strip, to see what this tune means for us

Do you have any baseline dynos as well? People want to see if this ECU really does have that much gain on more than just one car. I'm curious as well

lol...no baseline tunes and I'm running muffler deletes. But I do have plenty of baseline timeslips and modded timeslips

1/8th mile times have been consistently been 8.5xx @ 85mph

Don't forget to take out the charcoal filter on top of the stock filter. If memory serves, European Car Magazine got 2.5whp out of this simple mod on their otherwise stock z4m coupe. And K&N filter gave them another 2.5whp.

The thing with timeslips is that you can't make sure you drive the car the EXACT same way through each pass. Whereas on a dyno, it'll pick up your exact peak power #'s. I would urge you to get a before and after dyno to really help out those that are still indecisive about the AA tune

hah interesting. I will look into the charcoal filter thing. I got a B&M drop-in filter. Not sure what power if any that'll yield me.

Went by Active and got "Tuned" today. This is the first NA tune i have purchased which actually made me go "damn". All other tunes were very mild compared to this. This tune you can definitely feel. Might disconnect the battery tonight to see if it does anything. I was skeptical at first but now I am sold. Just get it !

Definitely disconnect the battery and replug to reset ECU. Don't forget to reset throttle adaptation as well via the key. Drive the car lots too. The more you allow it to adapt to your driving, the more you will feel the ECU. Unless of course you drive like a grandma lolll

I didn't give this tune enough credit in the beginning because it hadn't fully adapted yet. But after driving the car more, the above reset procedures, and a track day, I am most definitely happy with it.
Keep in mind that I could've just as easily reverted back to stock and gotten my full money back. That speaks a lot for itself! =]

Wow, you've got me all "jazzed" lol for this. I'm going in on the 25th. So how was the top end pull?
