Should I sell?

Thinking of selling my 2007 Z4. I rarely drive it, it only has 53,000 miles on it. I have sentimental attachment to it. Only a few cosmetic issues and I just put in new brakes/tires. Damn, I hate to get rid of it. You Z4 lovers, convince me why I should keep it.

Assuming your member info is correct, it's a coupe. It is likely that you will never own a car as rare as a Z4 coupe. Just pile that on top of all the other superlatives about E85/6 cars in general and that should do it!

All that said, if you don't drive the car you probably should sell it on to someone who will enjoy it. The probability of them skyrocketing in value is very low (something I learned from my SVX days).

You have to ask yourself why aren't you driving it?
Too many other cars, no time?
Do you know any other Z4 owners near you that you could get together with, AZ has some great driving roads.
Just know that if you do sell it you'll regret it.

To echo and add to wdb comments, IMO after 35 years and having owned 5 BMWs with 3 still in the fleet, and the one long sold in 2006 after 18 years of ownership, an iconic E30 325i, I think the E86 is one of BMWs best cars it ever offered for sale for its price. The E86 build quality was impeccable, the N52 is a motor from a tank, not one person thinks it is not an attractive car, and it is quite rare. It's not slow, handles great, and can make for daily if you need to only carry yourself and on occasion a passenger. If yours is by chance a manual, then seriously do not get rid of it. Drive it more.

And did we mention it is rare?

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Less than 3000 non M E86 made for the US market and under 900 of those were manual. Very rarely are there over 20 ever on CarGurus at any given time. If you sell now you’d hit prolly the top $ on the market. Sellers remorse and you’ll pay $$$$ for higher mileage worse condition than what you’ve kept yours. I picked my coupe up almost 2 years ago and market value went up 3-5k but has started the plateau. If no other reason to sell than you don’t drive it as often, and as you say theres sentimental valve if it brings a smile to your face getting in and taking it for a drive why not keep it? In non salt season I spilt my time between my e85 and 86.

I have a couple as well, only drive it maybe one or two times a month. Mine has 102k miles. I've thoroughly enjoyed having it and it's a cheap car to keep around. My other cars are much more comfortable/powerful so it doesn't get a fair shake anymore. When I feel like having a more thrilling drive I take it for a spin. I have no plan on getting rid of it, heck I just enjoy looking at it. I miss my roadster dearly so can't imagine getting rid of the coupe as well.

Your already questioning whether to sell, which to me means you'll most likely have sellers remorse…secondly, what other forum has members as legit as this one, I mean really

I couldn’t agree more, the only other would be the more UK based counterpart which was the first z4 forum I joined.

I was looking for my z for over 6 months. Black with red interior was exact color I wanted with low miles. Finally found it and got it shipped from Texas to San Diego. Have not seen any z4 coupe out here. Very rare. Once I got this car, I can’t get my hands, mind, and foot off of it. Wish I would have found a M class now. But despite, this cars turns heads all the time and raw drive just screams speed.

If you need a partner to drive.. just let me know.
