Anyone run a 265/40/18 tire on the FRONT of a Z4M?
Just curious to see if anyone has run this size tire on the front of a Z4M before (with modified suspension of course).
A friend of mine has Yokohama AO52s and swears by them for autocross duty. Looking at prices, there is a huge difference between the 265/35/18 that I know will fit over the 265/40/18 size he runs on a 350z. ($325 for the 265/35 and $250 for the 265/40). FWIW I am on FA 500's lowered about an inch with a butt load of front camber (-3.4 front). Set up is intended for regional autocross duty on a tire limited BSP set up. Intended wheel size is 18x9.5 et 35

I ran 245/40/18 RS4s and they rubbed the front fender liner (running 1/2" lower than stock, 2.5 degrees of camber and max caster). There is a good chance the 265/40 will rub even more unless you run stock ride height. I'm going to 265/35/18 Trofeos on the same spec wheels for next year because of this.

While I agree, and purple crack is tempting, I'm not sure I'm ready for them ability wise. I haven't maximized the BSP build yet either, and would get a front sway before A7s. Still learning the limits!
Further complicating the matter is BSP isn't a popular class locally to me, so if I want competition it makes more sense (and more cost effective) to run in a tire limited class with the BSP index. Also, running Hoosiers will bump me up a class with the local BMW club, and I would have to compete with guys in stripped out SM equivalent cars

So I decided to go with a 275/35 RE-71R square setup on 18x9.5 et35 Apex SM-10s. I removed the camber shims during test fit before tires were installed, as it was too close for my comfort. Now at -2.8 front via camber plates only and it fits nicely
I believe on a normal application there would be no rubbing under full lock, but since my passenger side fender liner and skid plates have taken quite a beating over the last two autocross seasons (read: broke to all hell), I get a *tinsy* bit of rub on the liner under full lock to the left, which I expect to be remedy with a few strategically placed zip ties. Can't wait to feel all the grip!

Welp. I lied.
Driving today I found that under a sharp bump I will have a brief tire/fender rub at the top of the front tire. Not enough camber I suspect, so good to know that one will want more than -2.8 in the front to fit 275s. Luckily it is only slight. On the flip slide, ALL THE GRIP I may roll the fenders in the meantime for the clearance needed, as I am almost positive the misses will kill me for spending another $450 on new camber plates to get even more camber...
