custom dial gauge logos

Feedback request:

In an idea shamelessly lifted from the Z3 Mroadster and RonStygar's thread somewhere else, I've decided to get some custom decals made to adorn my intrument cluster dial gauges.

I'm torn as to which way to go though.

See the two options I'm stuck at in the image below.
Top - Z4 roadster / supercharged
Bottom - Z4 supercharged / roadster

BTW the supercharged is there as I'm saving up for a G-power kit install in the spring, I'm not yet a member of the FI club.

What are your thoughts?

Came with ///M in the one cluster, I added "Coupe" in the other?

It's an easy mod that really adds a nice touch.

You have to pull the speedo out, easily done, just 1 screw. I'm having the stickers custom made.

The pod is very. Easy to take apart.
There are several threads kicking around on this.

I was lucky to get one of the labels that Ron Stygar had made.

Ok decals just arrived today. Had both versions made in white and in satin silver. will put them on and post pics soon.

OT, but what made you go for the G-Power kit over the other options out there?

price pretty much, but I just got an email from the distributor telling me they're having trouble filling my order. I emailed Gpower directly and they've discontinued that line, so i don't know what's going to happen with the vendor. All I know is that I can't afford the $5000 kits and the Gpower was only $2100 shipped to my sister's in the UK

I hear ya - however its one of those "get what one pays for" in some ways as you want the back up and service as well as some hope for warranty if anything goes sideways. The Vortech Supercharger in the ESS systems ALONE retails for over $2200.00 US and the re-prog on a ECU will run you 3-400 plus shipping.

I have a few "Z4" and "roadster" as well as "supercharged" extras left over, in a couple of different sizes. I also made a few "coupe" ones for a friend's e46 328ci, PM me an offer.

As far as font goes, I spent weeks looking for the actual font BMW used but couldn't find it, I'm pretty sure it's not an actual font but rather a pair of words designed as complete entities. In the end I had to do the same, I traced what photos I could find of the actual typeface, found a font that was sort of close and tweaked it heavily using inkscape / coreldraw to look like it does in the photos above.

you know with some clever trimming you could chop the "har" out of supercharged and the "dster" from roadster to achieve it...
