If people are ready to pay 60k for the top trim Telluride or Palisade, they may as well pay 120k for an M4. That’s the sad times we are living in.

For the guys who have the $ and want it, who cares? Definitely not my taste - all of these extra carbon bits and the ceramic brakes - but good to have options for those who like them.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Being an old dude, I remember when the E30 M3 debuted, it was about $6K more than a 325i. And back then hardly anyone wanted to pay the premium for a 4-cylinder over the M20.
