Footwell cargo net

Hi,

I just noticed that the netting around the metal surround of the passenger footwell cargo net is now bunched up at the bottom.

I know we have to snake the top elastic cord through the top of the netting which I think requires me to remove one end of this elastic cord from one of the metal hooks of the metal surround and then place the top of the netting through it so it stays up but the elastic cord does not seem to want to come out through the hook.

Any ideas how to do this?
