I'd agree. 2.5 hours is a good estimate if you've done it before and nothing decides to go sideways on you. If going slow and enjoying the grind of being under the back end of your car for the first time to attack this job, 4-6 hrs, including the collecting of tools cause you forgot where you put them last time, or your son got into them, or it's 600 degrees in your garage, or you for some odd reason just like laying under your car staring up at it and pondering life........

How much can I deduct for having a mini-split in my garage? ;-)

Funny though. The thought had occurred to me as I was "balls-deep" into it to just pull it all down (subframe) and clean it all up. Make it good as new and get rid of the years of surface crap as I've done in the past with many other projects. Thing is I also remember that those sorts of actions usually lead to $$$ and me rebuilding stuff that doesn't need to be touched for now other reason than cosmetics/art. Have to stop doing that......... so I can continue to buy food and pay bills
That's what happened to me... was just going to do rear wheel bearings but then COVID hit and I started working from home full time. Decided it was the perfect time to go "balls deep." Sanded and removed the rust off everything an coated it all in POR-15. Then replaced all the bushings, mounts, and input shaft seal. Would have had a 3.91 too but the one I was shipped was damaged so that will wait till next year.

It does look pretty when its all cleaned up!

Nice job Adam, the new front arms look great too. Did you re-enforce the uphanging for the front arms? Very nice mate, can't wait to get a report on how it all goes.

I was reading about reinforcing the pocket for the trailing arm but I thought this was more of an issue with the E36?

Ohh! Sorry now I understand. No I didn't reinforce the pick up for the front control arms. My arms area bit different from yours in that they are more like the stock arms and dont have a pivot point.

Adam, when you fitted those CMP lowering bushes to the rear diff carrier, did you have any issues with your rear ARB fittment? i did, i had to chop off a bit of my ARB to make it fit. (ill also need to chomp the rear spring mount nob as my rear upper arms will touch it upon compression otherwise...)

nice that you painted your rear upper arms, that looks good.

Hey Vanne... sorry just seeing this now. I dont have a rear bar on my car currently so I cant comment on fitment issues. I was thinking of tossing it back on and if I do i'll report back with fitment.

What brand rear bar are you running?

Happens to the best of us! I can't count the number of times I have done something like this..... this is why the forum community helps. A different set of eyes looking at something usually helps!

I think actually going to put my GC sway bar back on the car this weekend.. what size is yours? I have a GC medium rear bar and a soft.

lol id love to take the credit for putting the bar on upside down, but my car is in the shop atm, doing some final preps. I should have twigged when they said that they had to slightly trim the bar to fit it.... i did raise an eyebrow, but as the diff carrier is now higher up, ... well... anyways... going to the shop tomorrow to correct this.

Mines a custom G/C race rear bar. ill snap some more pics when iam at the shop.
