I'm not with Hagerty, but I've got six vehicles (what would be described as old, resto-mod, and special interest cars) insured with Grundy. For comprehensive, collision and an agreed value coverage of $19,000 on the '08 Z4, it costs $133/year. Obviously one's age and where they live are variables that affect rates. Agreed value coverage means that if there is a total loss the payout will be what the agreed value is (not to be confused with stated value insurance). The vehicles can't be your daily drivers. They must be garaged. You must have a clean driving record. There aren't any mileage limits or overly restrictive use rules (no idea if track use would be allowed).

I've got Hagerty after Grundy didn't want to insure my cars due to lack of proven DD (they didn't count my company car).

Nothing bad to say about them. I also love that all my M's have agreed value. I think I've got them at 3-5k miles per year, which is more than I drive my cars. My Toyota Tundra is still insured with Allstate.

I got a quote from Hagerty a couple of years ago. It wasn’t pretty. Haven’t tried again.

Can you get an "agreed value coverage" on a "semi-daily"? I would like to get agreed value coverage on the Z, but I also like to drive it more than just on weekends or special occasions.

The answer is yes. Grundy's MVP Program:
From their site...
"Insure ALL of Your Vehicles at their Agreed Value!
Grundy’s Motor Vehicle Program combines all of your vehicles, new and old, on one Agreed Value policy! This includes Collector Cars, Regular-Use Vehicles, Pickups, Trailers, Motorhomes, Exotics, Motorcycles, & more!"

Great - thanks! I'll see what their premium is like compared to my current policy with AAA

If it's your daily, I think you'll find it's not cheap...but for a rare car as yours, it may be worth it. Not used as a daily, the cost is dirt cheap when compared to conventional policies. Plus their limitations on use are really not that limiting.
Again from their site:

"Grundy wants you to enjoy your car, not keep track of mileage like some programs with limitations. Therefore, we give you unlimited miles for pleasure driving and in collector car-oriented activities. It is even OK if occasionally you drive your collector car to work to show it off to friends. However, your collector car must not be used as a daily driver. We require you and all licensed drivers in your household to have a modern car for everyday use.

When you have your car at home, it must be kept in an enclosed, secure garage when not in use. If you are away from home on extended outings your car is fully protected if you must park it outside, for example in a hotel parking lot. Grundy coverage includes Trip Interruption that reimburses you for hotel and repair costs in the event of a breakdown, and we also reimburse you for towing and labor charges up to $250. You can count on Grundy as you cruise."

I have Grundy for my '06 Z4MR. My dad has several collector cars insured with them and steered me their way. He had damage to one car from someone hitting it and didn't pay a dime to get it repaired.

Reach out to Lant in Stouffville. They insure my Z as a special Interest vehicle for appraised value through Hagerty.

I've been with Hagerty for years, your Z4M probably doesn't qualify because of the age. My 993 still isn't old enough and it's a '96. My wife's '79 mini costs about $200 a year.

But shoot them a note and see what they say:

I've got all my BMW's covered with Hagerty. They're a 99 M3, 07 Z4MR and 08 M3. The only thing they will not insure is a daily driver. My cars are insured under an agreed value, and limited mileage. Last I checked, it was $165 per month for all 3!

I should touch base with them on the 993.

I guarantee you it's eligible, but don't know if it's cheaper than what you're paying now. But I figured they're a very well known name so I feel much better having them. The KBB on my E36 M3 is $5k, so it was a relief to have it insured for more than double that.

When I had my Sunbeam Tiger I had to make a claim and they were brilliant. I'm not sure how cheap it would be, I pay $300 a month for my Benz, Porsche and house insurance, so not sure how much I might save but I'll look into it.
