2007 Z4 Top Operation

I am looking to buy a preowned 2007 BMW Z4 3.0 Convertible. On this vehicle the top makes a bang at the very end (~ in the last 1 inch gap) of closing (the whole thing falls hard). Seller says it is normal. Is it normal?

Nope. Maybe seller replaced electric motor and it needs to be bled but honestly it should fold smoothly.
