oil cooler thermostat for S54

Does anyone know at what temp the oil cooler thermostat opens for an S54?
My oil cooler has been off for the last few months while doing work, it's back on the car now but completely empty and because it's cold here so far I haven't been able to get the oil warmed up to the point where the thermostat opens and fills it up.

Not sure what the capacity is for the cooler and how much extra oil I should top up with to compensate for the drop.
Thanks

The empty engine would be about 6 liters. Just add that and be done with it.

Oil changes are 5.5 only, so a completely empty engine would be more than 5.5, I read online it would be from 6.15 to 6.5. hence my thought of starting with 6 until you can assess properly. I love how little oil the s54 uses for such a large displacement.

My 2.2 M54 E46 used 6.5 for oil changes

I have put 6.5L into now and the level is right at the top notch of the dip stick, I'm sure the oil cooler won't take a full litre so I should okay but it bugs me not knowing.
I had the entire oil filter housing torn down for cleaning a couple of months back but didn't think to look at the temp setting stamped into end.
