Buy a '06 lower kms or '08 higher kms

Ok so theres a couple of z4mc 4sale atm. Would you buy an '06 model with 19,000kms or an '08 with 26,000kms? I haven't seen the '08 model because its interstate but the '06 model is in immaculate condition, 1 owner, but all 4 wheels are scuffed, and needs the rear bumper touched up as it seems to be slightly damaged or one of the bumper clips has given way.

What are your thoughts?

Cheers

I would infer from this that the owner was not careful with this car. Also, I've read in this forum about 06 Z4Ms having camshaft bolt issues but none for 08s.

I would go for an 08 even if it has 7K kms more.

I can only tell you what I just did and what was important to me. To be honest the km difference between these 2 cars is negligable (sp). I just picked up a 2008 Z4MC with 5k miles on it (literally yesterday). What was most important to me was if the car had any warranty, then the mileage and of course the options I wanted, followed by color. I was looking at 2007 & 2008's with low miles, in the end I found a 2008 with low miles and just shy of 2 years left on warranty.

19000 and 26000 kms are both pretty low (under 16K miles). I wouldn't worry about such a slight difference.

The '06 has the nice non-radio TPMS but could also have the Vanos bolt issue that the '08 will not have....I would say go for the 2008.

Most of the time (there are exceptions of course) I would suggest to always buy the newest car with the options you want the most that you can afford. That said - I would go with the '08.

Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking along your lines Quickid, if the body hasnt been looked after to my standards then what about the rest. Even the tailpipes looked like they had never been cleaned. The '08 model is black which puts me off, great colour, but I've had black before and wont go back. Guess I'll hang out till the right one comes along. In Australia they are all decked out with all options. The only extras you can get in Australia are folding mirrors and extended leather. Everything else is standard. I guess when you're paying A$70k to A$80k you'd hope so!!! ;-)
