I just completed my installation of the Aero Sills, and I also took pictures of the area that needs to be slightly cut. I will try to post a pic of it tonight....

Therefore, and to provide some clarification with the question of the so-called “required cutting”, here are some helpful pics… First, please refer to the picture below, it is a close-up of the forward upper-inside portion of the Aero Sill as purchased. Within the red box you will notice that there is a small pre-existing cut out in the inside area. In the second picture, I have crosshatched the area in red to indicate the small portion of the sill that had to be cut out. I utilized a simple hacksaw, then used an exacto knife & file to smooth out the surface. The cut area is approximately 1/8 inch wide by 1 inch long. Please notice that I started the cut at the point as indicated below, and I ended the cut at approximately ¼ of an inch from the tab closet to the front edge. Also, and if it is of any consolation to anyone, the OEM Aero Sills, IMHO does definitely enhance the body of our Z’s, as a Victoria’s Secret push-up bra does for a woman’s cleavage… Hope this helps & Good Luck....just be careful with the cutting, and verify the area to be cut out to the first protruding tab located on the black mounting rail within your own vehicle. Once you remove your old sill and inspect the area you will realize what has to be done..... |

What I don't get is why it's not simply made that way. Even the original sill looked like it had been cut with an exacto knife when I did mine.

So where the top front corner of each sill meets the febder, it doesn't stick out a couple of millimeters? I installed mine without trimming the bit first, and looked, poked, and probed for a way to slot them in. Finally, I cut away the bit everyone is referencing, after noticing that the same area was crudely trimmed on the stock sills and checking Intgr8r's original post.

Maybe I'm just not seeing it so please let me know where it sticks out so I can trim it. It looks ok to me.

I went to a local dealership today and they want 2gs a side!
I was not expecting that, i will go check out what my normal dealer says about the price. 2gs a side cant be anywhere near right unless it's gold plated.
