Looking for Uninstaller/Installer for ABS Pump Unit on 2007 Z4MR in SoCal

Looks like my ABS Pump unit is in need of replacement or rebuild.

Does anyone know of an independent shop or mobile mechanic in Southern California that will remove the unit for me, and then reinstall it and bleed the unit and brakes after I ship it off for a rebuild (Module Masters)?

I am also considering doing the job myself, but it would be nice to do it with someone in the area who has done the job before. If any of you have done the job and wouldn’t mind helping out, please reply or PM me.

Any leads will be appreciated.

Eric

Thank you. I sent KAIV a PM.

An independent shop would also work, but problem is, the ones I have called so far are more interested in replacing the unit with a new one from BMW for $$$$.

The cost of the Modular Masters route makes a lot more sense, and I haven't found anything negative written about an experience with them (if anyone has, please correct me if I am wrong).

These guys => https://beemerbenz.com/ removed and sent the ABS module out for repair on my E53 X5 several years ago. Not sure if they still do it - give them a call.

Thank you.

I’ll reach out to Beemer Benz tomorrow. That shop is fairly close to me.

I found a BMW specialist shop very close to where I live that has removed, repaired, and reinstalled many ABS pump units onsite, so I had them do the repair. While not an inexpensive repair, it’s a fraction of the cost of replacing the entire pump unit as most shops do. And replacing the whole unit would have been a big waste, as mine looked brand new inside and out, and it was functioning as it should, except for a stinking little $10 spring-loaded brush that was sticking in its holder.

The shop includes a three year warranty on the work, and the owner said he has never had a pump he repaired come back. So I should be good to go indefinitely.

Thanks for the follow-up. Just curious where you ended up having it repaired? Would like to know if more options are available in the area. Thanks

Ron at Coast Motor Werk in Huntington Beach repaired my ABS pump unit.

Quick turn around, fair price, and so far, so good.
