Didn't get a notification so I missed this, sorry! I've had problem with the printer for a while and the new one that should have showed up already was post poned due to component shortage at Prusa Printers so at the moment I can't print anything. I'm afraid it's out of my hands and I have to patiently wait for Prusa to deliver the new printer, preliminary date was changed from quarter 3 this year to january 2023.

I've had a lot of people messaging me about the brake cooling kit and I really appreciate the interest! During summer I had a lot of problem with the printers and having a lot of other things to do I gave up on fixing them and ordered a new Prusa. The new printer was supposed to arrive during quarter 3 but it was post poned due to component shortage, the new estimated delivery is in January 2023.

With that said my patience with 3D-printing as a manufacturing process have reached it's end. Moving forward I will look into making my products in carbon fiber instead and only use 3D-printing for prototypes, one off's, moulds and complex parts. I can't give you an exact date when I'm gonna get there but I will update this thread when I know more.

I'm waiting on the new printer which have been post poned many times, but Prusa have said that it would be shipped second half of May but I still haven't recieved it. I've tried to fix the old printer a couple of times without luck, maybe it's bricked. I will start making these kits again once I have a working printer.

Just wanted to let you know that I cancelled the Prusa XL because I got tired of waiting (15 months now) and bought a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon Combo instead. The good news is that I'm back to printing and getting to know the printer. I will soon take orders again but I have to crunch the numbers first. There will be a slight price increase but all metal parts will be painted and hardware (bolts, nuts and washers) will be included but not the hose or hose clamps. The backing plates/brackets will be painted and come pre-assembled.

The printer is a sweet machine so far, love it!


One of the first test prints and it will improve quite a bit.


I can start the printer from home or from my phone now as soon as I get an order for faster delivery.


I'll make an update in a few days when I know more. But the printer is runing pretty much all the time.

So I've looked at the numbers and the new price for a complete kit is 370$, for the added amount of 50$ all metal parts come painted (heat resistant on the backing plates), backing plates are pre-assembled, all hardware such as bolts/nuts/washers will be included. Hose and hose clamps will not be included.

The first 5 kits sold will recieve a bonus consisting of meshes for the intakes and hose holders for the dampers.

New and improved design of the front frame of the rear brake cooling. The rear kit will decrease your brake disc temp by about 100 degrees C, it's been measured in equal conditions by a Time Attack competitor here in Sweden I help with brake cooling.



Now it comes with holes if you wish to install a mesh for extra protection from stones etc.

sorely tempted.... sorely sorely tempted to get a front and rear kit.

Not massively keen on cutting away the rear splash gaurd that much so would likely only cut out the bit i needed! now i cant quite remember but im sure on my z4m theirs covers where the bolts go, i need to check.... im guessing if their is we loose the covers?

R.E the front race kit have you got installed pics on a z4m?

You don't have to cut the rear backing plate as much as I did, the pictures are on my E46 M3 race car. A small window is enough. The rear cooling makes more difference than one would think. Johan Palmqvist in Sweden competes in Time Attack with an E46 M3 and he measured a 100 degree difference under equal conditions before/after the kit was installed.

If you're talking about the front backing plates you will lose the cover for the ABS sensor, yes. You could always put a bit of heat insulation over the sensor if you're afraid of the heat.

I don't have any more pictures than those on page 6 and 8 in this thread, people haven't been keen on sharing and I don't have the kit installed on my Z4 M since it's not a track toy.

Some new pictures on the kits ordered by Steven above. This is how the front and rear kits are delivered (all parts painted and all required installation hardware included). But as usual hose and hose clamps are not included, the meshes and damper hose holders are extras as well. But if you buy a front and rear kit I can include those as well.

How is that plastic going to survive the front rotor heat? I melt bushings up there... Will this handle enduro races or just 2 lap time attack sprints?

Side note - I have brake cooling on my z4 and ended up blocking the cooling due to overcooling on long straightaways. Perhaps you should incorporate some sort of blocking adapter especially for the front.

Otherwise, cool project.
