Horn inoperative on 2005 Z4
Replaced the fuse and still not working. Is there a common issue causing this? Can't get it inspected until working.

Could be the horn themselves, maybe wires corroded. Pretty easy to replace, directly accessible from wheel liner

Horn not working
When I got my Z4 a couple of weeks ago, the horn(s) would only work for a very short time, after which nothing until the following day. I had to have them working to get my registration and license plate. I paid $60.00 to a repair shop, only to be told that both horns were worn out.... Apparently, it is not uncommon for both high and low horns to fail at the same time(?).
Anyway, I held out for BMW horns (unavailable from local shops) until the new BMW horns with BMW's connectors arrived. I did not want to be splicing and soldering after-market horns in such a restrictive space. Two nuts off, old horns removed, new horns on, plug and play - all is well. |

My horn is really weak, I suspect only one is working. So the question is, what side are the horns located? With my luck I would pull the wheel liner for the wrong side!
Any help appreciated, and Thanks in advance! 2014 Z4 S Drive 28I Last edited by dhlairbusb4@cs.com; 01-04-2024 at 03:45 PM.. |
