Smile Christmas Lights & Decor 2019 Thread

YES!!! I have already put our Christmas Lights up!
I used to wait until the day/weekend after Thanksgiving but I have come to realize that: A. The weather generally is too cold and or wet. B. I want to get my $$$ and time worth. Not to mention, several of my neighbors have had theirs up for a couple of weeks now. Previously I have been using LED's but decided to go back to incandescent bulbs for their much better Brightness.
I will reserve a couple of more exterior decor lighting for December 1st.

Hahaha!!! I like to look at Snow.... on television.

Being here in the South, and growing up in So Cal. I'm used to not having snow. I have visited states with snow and it looks pretty. But it simply is a PITA with mobility and clean up. I dread having to see and clean up salt and sand from my cars if and when it does snow around here.

Am I the only one that does not decorate for holidays?

Just b/c it's just me & it'd making more work for myself for no reason IMO.

I'm a fan of the older incandescent bulbs myself. I guess it reminds me of my childhood.

Looking good!

It's like walking into my local Lowe's in late September and their Christmas displays were out. TXSTYLE, the house looks nice but odds are you were wearing shorts when decorating.

Thanks
Hahaha!! It was actually in the 70's Saturday when they went up.

However... This "Artic Blast" swooped in last night and it dropped into the 20s.
That's a 50 degree drop and it shocks the system no doubt.

Thank you. I've been using leds all these years but until they develop a brighter Christmas light, incandescent is the way to go.
I also went with a Candy Cane theme which came out nice! My neighbor said he was gonna wait until after Thanksgiving but he said I motivated him to put his up too this past weekend.

No sir. You are not the only one who doesn't decorate. I put the tree up one time after my boys became old enough and moved out. The girlfriend and I are the only ones who would see it. Absolutely not worth the entire day spent putting the tree up and the entire day it takes putting everything away after. I simply have better things to do with my free time. I have one decoration that goes up every year. It is a snowman, that is old as hell and he looks completely depressed. I love that damn thing. Summarizes my entire take on the holiday season and makes me smile every time I see his melancholy ass.

My fiance had off yesterday. I come home from work, Christmas music blaring throughout the house, and the whole pad is decked out in Christmas decor already. I was astonished. I'll have to snap some pics when I get home! As soon as the calendar flipped from Oct to Nov she has been all guns blazing with the music, I'm just out here looking forward to Thanksgiving haha.
