That's what I was thinking. You know what happens with all battery powered tools? It's always low on power when you need to use it!

Tow

Yes, once; my State Farm insurance covers towing; made contact with a curb and cut the sidewall of my RR tire and created minor OZ Superleggera rim damage (that was perfectly repaired as well); Z4M's cannot be towed, but must be on a flatbed tow truck; taken to my Discount Tire and replaced both rear tires due to tire wear ratios that require both tires being replaced; the flatbed process was relatively easy; PLEASE ENSURE YOUR TOW EYE HOOK THAT IS LOCATED IN THE BMW TOOL KIT IS IN YOUR VEHICLE; IT SCREWS INTO THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE BUMPER IN A THREADED LOCATION THAT IS BEHIND THE SMALL OVAL-ISH COSMETIC COVER ON THE BUMPER.

Lowered cars....

One thing I do worry about with the Z is the tow truck. I can request a flat bed, but our cars are pretty low and with my APR splitter clearance is further reduced. I make sure to have the tools on hand to remove the front bumper in case I ever need a tow and it's too low for a flat bed.
My Z4MR is lowered (Bilstein B8's/Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Performance Springs); my car was flat-bedded once for a damaged sidewall failure due to contact with a curb; the flatbed driver was made aware that my car was very low; he simply took spare wood pieces from his truck and ensure the car was electric winched onto the flatbed and removed using the "spacers".

Several years ago there was a post about the correct way to tow a Z4, which was use a flatbed tow truck and special tie-down hooks (t-hooks) that mounted into slots in the frame under the jack pads. The jack pads have to be removed to reveal the frame slots, which is what the jack pads mount into.

I searched for the post and found it. It's from March, 2013: https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthr...light=tow+hook

The post that first mentions the tie-down hooks is post #9. The link for the company that sold the hooks, AW Direct, which is a company that supplies the towing industry, is in post #13. I ordered some from that company but it appears that they've been bought out by or merged with another company called Zip's, and the website has changed so that link no longer works. The closest t-hook that I could find that is similar to the ones that I bought is this one: https://zips.com/parts-detail/all-gr...de-70-ws-19764.

In the other thread, post #14 has a link to a similar t-hook available from Summit Racing which has an additional ring on it. Zip's/AW Direct also sells a similar t-hook with a ring.

I also have a post in this thread that describes how the jack pads are mounted, post #18.

Let's be realistic, if the situation dictates that you don't have the time to wait for a tow, or if the weather is against you to get your butt on the ground and try and plug a leak and then inflate it, that BMW fix a flat canister may save your ass. Replace it every 4 years (around $35) and if you use it, have the tire removed, cleaned and plugged the next day or so.

I can't see it causing extreme damage being in there for a day or two.

I agree.
From Slime's web site: "Do not leave Slime inside your tires for more than 2 years. After that time, we cannot guarantee the integrity of your rims. Slime’s Emergency Tire Sealant formula is intended to be used as a temporary emergency repair in passenger vehicles."
