Rough neutral to first...help
I'm suspecting it's the clutch but before I go and start buying all the upgrades, I want to make sure it is in fact the clutch...This is for the 3.0si 6sp, when I let off the clutch from a stop, the car starts to get very jerky. When I creep into the point the car is about to move, there is still a little jerkiness to it however not as severe. There is no other trouble shifting into other gears...Also I've had to bring the clutch stop closer to the floor a month back or so bc the clutch depressed wasn't starting the car. Hoping the jerkiness from neutral to first is in fact clutch related and not the transmission...thoughts and input appreciated.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well! It definitely sounds clutch related and not the transmission itself. "Clutch chatter" which means the friction material of the clutch disc is engaging unevenly with the pressure plate and/or flywheel. I'd try giving the car slightly . more revs when pulling out in first. And, because I'm a cheapskate, I'd live with it until the clutch was well and truly worn out. But when that time came, I'd be sure to replace everything in there including the flywheel.

Thank you for the input...I've managed to put around 110k spirited miles on the car and felt I was on borrowed time. As much as I'd like to prolong it, since it's Black Friday cyber Monday, I feel now is the time to pull the trigger.
Was hoping uuc had a kit for the 3.0si but didn't see once listed, so thinking of going with Sachs organic and jb lt flywheel. Thoughts? |
