I used this file and it updated my nav to 4-1/00 but I dont have the day/night option in the settings. FWIW I have the 2007.1 dvd disc in my MKIV.

Also, why am I seeing a screen shot of 4-1/02 on http://bmwnavi.eu/? I also have seen a screen shot of 4-1/01......

Do I not have the newest software?

Looks like a custom bmwnavi.eu blend.
OEM stopped at 4-1/00 (32.2).
They probably just did some NavTweak type aesthetic mods and upped the version number while they were in there.

All of the graphics and menu text are in resource files that you can pull out of the .iso and edit, stuff back in, burn a new DVD, stick it in the drive, and bam. I changed my boot screen to the ///M logo.
To get from the OEM color scheme choices (ugly/uglier) to Day/Night, you just pull out one of the two the perspective backgrounds, invert the colors, paint a Moon and some stars on it, and put it back in. I'm pretty sure somebody did that in the NavTweak thread.

Can anyone help? I tried installing the software, but it didn't accept the disc, telling me it was corrupt. When I tried to hit 'Accept' and remove the disc, the screen turned blank and now it won't turn on at all.

Start again from step 1.
Download the image and make a new DVD, on a different computer, if possible.
My first attempt was also corrupt. Had a hard time getting the DVD to eject.
Made a new DVD on a better computer, and all was well.

I burned a disc at the slowest speed. I used a CD not a DVD. The CD is for upgrading the firmware, the DVD is for the map data.

So I updated to the latest version V32.2 and tried to update the splash screen but it didn't take. The overall update seems to have worked just not the splash screen. Any ideas? It's definitely in the navboot file as I compared it to the standard but I'm still just getting the regular --- BMW ---- startup.

Did you put it in the right place?
Been too long for me to remember what I did, but I just looked at my iso, and the modified navboot is in:
\V_2\RR\0101\BMWC01S\app_sw

There's 3 other navboot files in the iso. Each older than the last.

Yeah that's where I put it. No big deal really, just thought it was odd that everything else worked perfectly.

I found it in my navboot with NavTweak. Make sure you replaced bitmap #14.



And here's the image file I used.
It might be fussy about size and pallet.
Assuming ///M is what you were going for, give it a try.

If you're going to have another go at it, I just remembered that it won't flash if you put a CD in that is the same version that you already have installed.
I had to make a v29 CD to fall back to before trying another modified v32.

Success. I compared the M logo you had with the one that I pulled down and the only difference was size. Apparently that was tripping it up. Downgraded and upgraded with your logo and it worked.

The splash screen just needs to be a gif with the exact size of 400 x 234.
