Sorry for the thread revival. Does anyone have a review of these?
I'd like to replace the speakers in my system without having to change the factory amp. I guess i could always order teh BavSound amp, but I don't think I need to. This speaker setup seems like a pretty good deal but I wanted to hear the opinions of those of you that have tried them. Thanks. |

I will, its only a small investment. The only thing is I am still unclear as to what comes in the kit. Is it 6 mids plus tweeters, or only 4? They DIY that bavsound posted on YouTube, only shows the door speakers being replaced.

Hmmm...maybe I am better sourcing a whole set of new speakers then. But I just like the fact that the speakers are an exact fit, and are matched to the amp.

Replaces the door/front tweets and mids. I did read a few reviews on their site from non-Z4 owners who liked the replacement mids and tweets. I am a big fan of silk dome tweeters, have them in my home system. They are usually smooth and extended without the shrill or etched sound that metal tweeters can have. The OEM mids are aluminum cone I believe, and well done aluminum cones are ok. The price is ok so I am going to try the upgrade as well.

Do you guys feel it was a worthwhile upgrade? Can you really notice the difference?

Well, if there is enough interest, do you think we could get a group buy going for these? Not sure how one starts a group buy, but if there is interest I'd be willing to call Bavsound to find out if it's possible.

I tried to start a group buy a long time ago. But BSW kept delaying the release, then said they were sold out, then weren't to didn't want to do it. When the members found out it was just the door drivers that got upgraded most people backed out.
Personally I've changed my opinion of the stock system (it sounds better when played loud). I would still be willing to buy this system in a group buy (if the discount was greater than 10%.) |

Okay, well let's start the group buy list. I'll call Bavsound next week to see if they can do this. If they can drop the price by more than 10% this is a no brainer. Else there may be better aftermarket options for the same price.
How many people do you think we need to get in? |

80Hz: flat (0) to +1 (I have settled on flat) 200Hz: -4 to -5 (prefer -4, on some recordings -5 sounds better) 500Hz: -1 1kHz: flat (0) 2kHz: flat (0) to +1 (prefer flat) 5kHz: flat (0) 12kHz: +1 adjust the fader 2 notches towards the front, this, along with the EQ settings, removes most of the excessive "boom" from the Carver subs....... much more musical (again, on some recordings 1 to the front sounds better) I set the room size a little larger than the lowest setting to make the soundstage bigger, and there is a slight amount of reverb with that (with the top down adds a little "room" effect) John |

I think I would like be in on this. I have been looking at these for a few months trying to decide whether to pull the trigger. Weren't they $299 a while back, or have they always been $259? It would be nice if anyone has added these door speakers already to add a revew or some comments.

Found this review on their site, but... Is it anyone on this board?
Author: Branden Lee Carroll Just installed that Stage I audio upgrade for my 2006 BMW Z4. Let me first say Wow, for stock power the speakers changed from night to day. I used some Skrillex to determine the change before and after. I looked at the factory speakers vs. the BSWs, they looked better but I was skeptic if they would really perform better. The highs sound so crisp and the mids from the panel sound amazing. Even with the volume up they do not distort. Great value in my book, I will be spreading it in the Z4 forums.
