New/Rebuilt s54 engine buying options
Hi guys,
I need to buy new engine for my car as soon as possible, the options are: 1. Crate - When can I buy new s54 crate engine? Is it still possible? (not from BMW) 2. Rebuilt - When can I buy complete and rebuilt long block s54 engine? recommended workshops? (race/upgraded engine is preferred, but still street usable). 3. Fixing mine is not an option at the moment, any other solution? Thank you very much for your help. Last edited by 1zpower7; 07-24-2020 at 07:50 AM.. |

If you want a built engine, you could contact Lang Racing. They'll probably require that you ship the car to them for the work though.
https://store.langracing.com/bmw-s54...core-required/ https://store.langracing.com/rebuilt...ne-long-block/ Otherwise, try the E46 M3 forums or look for E46 partouts on Facebook.

Suggest Lang for the engine; contact them regarding shipping your engine to them to rebuild, or they provide a turn-key long block engine built to your specs; since the cost to ship your engine will be prohibitive, you could assess the shipping costs vs Lang providing an engine.

The location is not a problem, i can ship/buy the motor anywhere.
What your components spec suggestion to my existing s54 rebuild? I want to build an excellent engine that will be good for the track and for the street, 400whp NA is possible?! |

Other than short lifespan racing builds, Mike Cotter of https://naturallyagitated.com/ has a recipe for a 3.4 / 3.5L S54 stroker that reaches 390-400 whp NA, but it'll run you ballpark of US$25-30K. You can get into the 360-375 whp club for about half of that: quality tune + 288/280 cams + stepped headers + extensive exhaust side porting + AEM standalone ECU.
