Help with marks on paint
Left my car cover on outside when it was raining and now my Z4 fender and hood has these marks. I have tried leaving it out in the sun to see if the moisture beneath my clear would go away. And tried clay bar method with ONR. Any pointers?

Could try a heat gun on low setting, stay about 2' (feet) to 18" away from surface. Do not keep the heat gun pointed in one spot, keep it moving to avoid over heating the surface and blistering the paint. Go Sloooow. It will take time.
Another possible solution is putting olive oil on the cloudy area for about an hour. Google it. These are at your own risk. |

Yes, humidity getting trapped in clear coat causes it. Called blushing, more common in newer paints just after being sprayed. I use another method which involves a paint agent, but it has more risk.
Best not to put that cover that cover back on it. Had a friend have this happen to her car while using a cheap car cover that layed directly on the paint surface. She had no garage and left the cover on for extended periods. Not insinuating yours is of the same quality. |
