UGH. Dammit I was hoping they'd be CSL style splitters.
That spoiler won't last a week for me. It'll be crushed the first speed bump I drive over. And it looks a little ugly too.

I think it probably stick out too far on the sides, maybe pics of the entire car will give us a true idea of what it looks like.

Not sure on price. BMS is still finalizing what is going to be included in the final kit but it will be more than the $300 suggested before, hopefully not much more. Chris did base the part on the spoilers he uses on BMS race cars so that should explain the shape. It does tapper off on the sides which I think is more obvious in person, and it looks better on the ground than on a lift for sure . The spoiler was only on my car on the lift today, so I only had a chance to use Chris's camera with the car in the air.

Looks good, which is to say: functional. No BS, no bling. Now spray paint it black and get some more shots so we'll have a better idea of the finished shape

I did a very quick and crappy edit of how I would love it to look if it extended the fangs downward. If I had some more time, I'd do a quick 3D render of it, but basically the most annoying thing to me about the z4 front is that it needs more balance at the bottom. I feel if the fangs equaled the distance to the furthest part of the bumper it would look 10x better. I'm sure BMW would have done this with a CSL version

remember this is just the prototype. the carbon fiber final piece is being made in the next few days and should be done in time for Mfest this weekend. I promise I'll post better shots from the event where my car will be headlining the BMS booth!

I'd rather spend redonculous amounts of money on a VRS splitter than that thing. And of course I'm not buying anything anyway, so who cares what I say.

Here are a few of the pictures I took from Mfest! We decided to test out the look of blacking out some of the surrounding trim with black gorilla tape and eventually adding these corresponding carbon trim pieces as part of the kit for those interested. |
