Stupid question

This is just junk, right and I should know better? Had to ask.

That place gets terrible reviews. Use ECS or Pelican, they don't cost too terribly much more from them.

Hell even rockauto will get you more reliable brands, avoid ebay for anything other than maybe aesthetic stuff that isn't important for safety
For suspension I'd look at Lemforder, Meyle, or Moog for a Z4M

Also note it says Z4, the M uses offset FCAB

I'd say RockAuto does better than most. You might use some of the other sites to gather information, then go to RockAuto for the actual purchase. I am rueing the day I didn't do that for the driveline work on my Z4MC, probably could have saved hundred$.

In order of my preference:

1) ECS tuning
2) FCP Euro
3) Tischer (they sell OE parts only).

Pelican and Turner Motorsport belong to ECS tuning AFAIK.

PS: and to find out which part # you need use https://www.realoem.com (though they have mismatches from time to time).

I think I was saying this already... but anyway..

I had very bad experience with RockAuto few years back when they refused to exchange a faulty strut I bought from them for my old Toyota. Reasons they claimed were completely stupid (e.g. this strut was not suitable for my suspension type which was lie). Maybe I was extremely unlucky but now I try to avoid them as much as I can..

Just my 2c...

Thanks guys, I suspected it was junk but thought I would ask just in case. Occasionally you do run across a gem like the Megan header on ebay.
Thanks for the link to getbmwparts.com, I didn't know of that site and some of their prices are quite good compared to ECS.
I've had a couple of bad purchases from rockauto over the years, horns that didn't work, rebuilt calipers that were rusty inside, but the vast majority of stuff has been exactly what was ordered.
Thanks

Yep, their prices are generally lower comparing to competitors.. but! ECS has free shipping policy for orders >$50 which quite often can beat Tischer overall price (w/shipping cost).

FCP Euro on the other hand has unmatched return policy - you can return back anything at any time no questions asked. Even used engine oil or worn brake pads as long as you keep buying it from them. No clue how they survive with this model..

Because most won’t go through hassle of paying to ship back engine oil, even rotors. Non-m rotors can be had almost same cost of shipping the used ones back.

Control arms last forever (All Z4 come with ZHP arms).

Z4M bushing lasts forever (solid rubber), Z4 bushing is oil filled and does wear out.

Everything else replace as needed. If a joint is tight leave it alone.

I proactively replaced the front control arm bushings on my MRoadster at about 70K miles. They were still in very good shape when I pulled them but I noticed that the softer rubber from the new bushings cured a very slight steering wheel vibration with my CSL rep. wheels that I couldn't balance out (after multiple tries). Just saying...

Ha they must be a drives distance from you being in CT. Lucky! Do you drop off returns at their facility?

I’ve not had to yet for that purpose but I have picked up items from there in past if I was heading up in that direction. It’s really nice facility and their retail “storefront” has Amazon style lockers for pickups.

Turner Motorsport is a reliable and knowledgable provider of BMW parts.

Here's their link to Z4M suspension options:

I've been running a $160 front suspension kit I bought two years ago off Amazon, car sees plenty of track duty, no issues.

Whichever place you choose to buy from aim for LEMFÖRDER parts. These are the closest to BMW original you will get. My opinion only in case anybody disagrees.
