Help deciding color
The local tire shop curbed 3 and bent 2 lips of my wheels while they were dismounting my tires. I was pissed and went straight to the manager. They decided to pay for the repair and reconditioning on all the wheels. My black coupe is on Volk TE-37 black with the red time attacks (painted). The wheel shop are unable to paint or duplicate the original and they can only powder coat. I'm thinking about changing color for fun. I'm open to all opinion on colors but I have 4 in mind. What do ya'll think?
Examples: Takata Green on 350Z Takata Green on RX-7 Matte Black on M3 Bronze on Civic Si Bronze on 997 Turbo White on S2000 White on Skyline White on 997 Turbo Last edited by Kream; 09-02-2010 at 11:29 AM.. |

1. Contact Mackin Industries (the distributor for Rays Wheels in the US) and ask them about powdercoating the Volks. I would assume it's fine, but I remember hearing something about the baking process actually weakening the wheels since they've already been heat treated. Again, not sure if there's any merit to that... but it sounds plausible.
2. Obviously I would select who repairs the wheels myself, and not return to that tire shop once the wheels are finished. 3. Color kinda depends on how flashy you want to be, and how modded your M is. On Black, you could pull off everything. I'd consider Bright Green, Racing Gold, Bronze, or Mag Blue. EDIT: Hahaha, nice... I replied before you had put up the pole, but see we're thinking similar. I was going to also say white; just imagine it's a complete pain to keep clean.

Hehe that is probably why I'm having such a hard time to decide. I have until next Tuesday before the wheels go out. The company I'm getting this done through is Wheel Technologies. I've been reading good reviews.
My M is not too modded. Wheels, intake, and exhaust per usual with every car I own. Also the car is not my daily driver so keeping it clean won't be a problem. I don't mind it being too flashy. Shoot I thought the red time attacks was subtle on black but I often get a lot of looks when passing through Downtown. The tire shop is definitely not getting any business from me after this incident. |

personally, if it were me...I'd go with the matte black and then do a time attack in that green. The whole wheel being green is just a bit too much FOR ME. If you went with the green, you could tie it in with some green accents here and there too...IDK. And I personally don't like bronze/gold or white wheels. again, that's just me. so that's why i chose black.
I do think a green time attack stripe would look pretty sick, in a good way...i like the time attack ring

I don't like white wheels, never have. The green's too much for me. How about doing the inside of the barrel green and the spokes in black. PAIN to clean, but I think it would look sweet. Dowhatchalike.
