WTB: 996/Boxter S caliper conversion for Z4M

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
As title says, looking for a 996/Boxster s conversion. Ideally, looking for a kit ready to go with front calipers already modified along with needed RallyRoad lines and brackets, but will consider partial kits. Don't need rotors or pads. Shipping would be to Chicago area. PM me if looking to sell!

FWIW I spent a lot of time researching this when I pieced together my kit. But for the rears, while the p/n you typically see quoted are correct (996.352.421 / 422), you need to make sure they indeed came off a 996 c2 base or 986/7s. Reason being I found out the non-s 986/987 rear calipers also have the same p/n in the casting. The (non-S) base and S calipers actually look identical but the key difference is the pins that hold the brake pads stick out are longer on the non-S (i.e. less clearance) to accommodate a thinner rotor (24mm). The S models use a 28mm rotor in the rear so those pins are ‘shorter’ and offer more rotor clearance.

If you search hard enough you’ll find instances of owners unable to install rear calipers and blame faulty brackets not realizing they bought the right p/n caliper off the wrong car.
